"Having the knowledge of great music is one thing, being able to bring it forward to the masses in another"

Always since I can remember, I've loved music (of all forms).

Dancing, singing and humming along to a beat is what gives me a natural pleasure.  It's a release, it's a joy that I've always embraced.

My love is dance music, and that will never change.

(1985-1996)

Listening to radio mixes from Chicago dj's such as Bad Boy Bill, Brian Middleton, Bobby D, Julian Jumpin' Perez & DJ Funk - I found an appreciation for up-beat dance music, and loved it!  Driving around with my cousin & friends waiting until late in the night for the mixes to start getting good - then rocking out all night

to beat after beat.

Learning of all-night-parties (raves) I was eagerly awaiting the day I would be able to make music of my own.

(1996)

After hearing live-spun underground dance music @ a rave in Rockford , IL ... I knew one day I wanted to be involved with the making or promoting of such beautiful and uplifting music.  Asking my friend "how is that music being made" and she said they were mixing two records together to sound as one, I was totally intrigued!  My influences at the time were Paul Johnson, Barbara Tucker, Derrick Carter, Robert Armani and

Daft Punk just to name a few.

(1996-1998)

Head-into the Midwest USA rave scene picking up on all styles of underground music & truly loving it!!

The culture, the style, the way-of-life / I was all about it.  To get to know the music a bit deeper - I also put on a few underground rave events (Super-Fizz, Eternal, Jack Frost) enabling me to meet some of my favorite dj's and work with them directly.  Through this time I self-taught myself and learned how the music was made, mixed, it's history (from way back) until current dates.  I was so interested, I started to learn the artist's that were putting out tracks, the track names, remixes, edits, dubs & soon found out there was a plethora of music to explore.  All the genres & sub genres, I was beginning to become overwhelmed with myself; so I decided to make 2 styles my favorite.

Those styles are House & Garage.

(1998)

With the recent boom of the internet & it's searching powers, I decided to take my love to another plane - production.  Downloading tracks off Napster & other P2P programs - I built my digital collection from other alike users.  I now possessed these tracks and was able to start mixing them digitally and breaking them apart for further remixing purposes.  Starting with Acid software - I picked up quickly on how to layer and compose mixes using computer software such as Fruity Loops, Mixmeister and Reason.  Sounding pretty damn good (if I must say so myself) I thought It was time to take my music to the next level.

Shortly thereafter - I decided to purchase turntables & a mixer / along with some of my favorite records.   That's when I started spinning vinyl.

(1999 - current)

After Quickly learning my new dj equipment and developing my own style, I picked up on some events & gigs I could play at (Q101's Sonic Boom & Zentra Nightclub) to name a few.  These gigs made way for residencies that I've held around Chicago - F212 coffee/dessert lounge, 89.3 WNUR Chicago, Minibar, Gentry on Halsted, and now Scarlet.  I'm now stretching my sounds into the Midwest US, playing shows in Milwaukee, WI @ Three Lounge, Red Light, and Triangle.  My main style that I am know for mixing is Garage, Speed Garage and/or UK Garage with a sub-category of House.  I play both equally as good as the other and feel it's not only what one plays, it's how one plays it!  Making a name for myself is not my goal, but it's to educate people that electronic music is not the "dirty stepchild" that everyone always thought it was (Brian Kelly quoted - 2004).

It's much more than that, it's music yes, but at the same rate it's something of substance.  It's beautiful, it's passionate and it's full of life.

Look around you ...

Electronics control our lives, but being able to be one in control of electronics that make music is something of another world.
